The Historic
Boswell Mansion
This project is the historic preservation of an abandoned 1912 Mansion in Chase City, Virginia, roughly two hours south of Charlottesville and Richmond, and near Kerr Lake.
Still ongoing, we are slowly breathing new life into this project and it's promising to become a focal point for the area and a prominent tourist attraction. Once completed, it will be a combination of a Bed & Breakfast, a cafe, and a speakeasy.

The Problem
The house, as-is, has some seriously cool design features, like 10'-0" pocket doors, a spider window with curved, beveled glass, and a 650 square foot front porch with 1" hand laid marble tile. However, after being abandoned for almost 40 years, every inch of the house needed some serious love.
The Solution
Our team collaborated with the client on his vision for the project, and provided realistic 3D models and renderings for an inside look at the project. This enabled our client to see the desired finished result so he could plan accordingly.

Excitement
Although work is ongoing, the excitement among the town is palpable. Locals stop by for a chat, to tell their stories surrounding the house, and to see what's going on inside as work continues.
The Outcome
As work progresses, the true craftsmanship of this building is coming to the forefront and the extent of the Boswell Mansion's degradation becomes more and more clear. This before and after of the same corner shows the care and precision needed with all aspects of a historic preservation project of this magnitude.
