A Custom Home on top of Afton Mountain, outside of Charlottesville, Virginia
The Problem
These clients were referred to us to help design their dream custom home. Their 5-acre lot was perfect and had jaw-dropping views, but the builder-driven design they had just wasn't doing it for them. After several rounds of revisions, they realized they were spinning their wheels and contacted us.
The Solution
Through a collaborative approach, we worked together with the clients to streamline the floor plan layout and refine the exteriors. The first few iterations reflected a contemporary Mediterranean-style house, before the clients reconsidered their options and overhauled the design to be much more contemporary and neutral, with clean lines.
Although still under construction, the Interior Design will be more in tune with the Mediterranean style that the clients originally desired, with wood flooring, natural tile, and a slate fireplace accent overlaid on warm, neutral colors.
Although only 30 minutes from Charlottesville, you're greeted with unparalleled mountain views upon entering this custom home. Windows were all located and configured so that no matter where you are in the house, you have a window with a mountain view. We've seen better views from homes, we're...just not sure when.
