Lone Light Coffee
A modernized commercial design facelift on Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall.
The Problem
The existing space was shared with The Pie Chest, which ceased operations in the space and closed down. It was dated, lacked seating, a brand identity, and was overly loud.

The Solution
The client came to us with a vision of a Japandi-style redesign of the space, complete with a rough sketch and a color scheme. The idea was to reimagine the interior of Lone Light Coffee as a small, but calming space with clean lines and a more modern aesthetic that expanded their seating capacity and established their brand. We collaborated with them from start to finish to bring their vision to life.
The Process
By rendering multiple designs, we were able to narrow down design options to ensure the client got the design they needed. This ensured a client-focused approach that tailored the new space to their desired brand and aesthetic.

The Outcome

A striking feature wall serves as the focal point, with bold illumination and dark colors in the foreground.

A small bar height area offers quick, casual seating while the lighter wood contrasts the mahogany counters.

A new row of built-in seating offers a warm, cozy area to chat, work, and hang out.

A lounge area by the full height front windows creates a more casual, open seating space for larger groups.

A bold accent color, in conjunction with acoustic wood paneling, ties both halves of the space together while maintaining each side's unique characteristics.
